Restoring Texas Grasslands One Yaupon Harvest At A Time

Yaupon AgWorks champions the revival of native grasslands by taming pervasive yaupon, reseeding with native species, and supporting rural stewards to boost biodiversity and local economies.

Restoring Texas Grasslands. Supporting the People Who Steward Them.

Yaupon AgWorks is a nonprofit working to restore native grasslands to our Post Oak Savannah in Texas by harvesting pervasive yaupon, reseeding native grasses, and equipping rural communities for long-term stewardship.

We partner with landowners, conservation organizations, and businesses to make ecological restoration financially viable and community-driven — from the ground up.

Support for Rural Land Stewards

Providing education, resources, and community connections to empower sustainable land management and economic growth.

Restoring Native Texas Grasslands one yaupon harvest at a time.

The relationship between Yaupon AgWorks and CatSpring Yaupon is simple yet impactful: CatSpring Yaupon provides an outlet for one-time yaupon harvesting, while Yaupon AgWorks supports long-term land restoration by clearing and mulching after harvesting replanting native grasses and improving soil and water health. Together, they provide landowners with a holistic conservation solution — one that removes troublesome yaupon while restoring fertile, water-absorbent grasslands.

This partnership is part of a larger ecosystem of conservation initiatives led by WHF and their conservation planning team. By offering landowners immediate land improvement (yaupon removal) and long-term ecological benefits (grassland restoration), Yaupon AgWorks and CatSpring Yaupon create a complementary system that promotes healthier ecosystems, resilient landscapes, and expanded economic opportunities for local communities
